Stuck in Cairo This Eid? Here Are Eight Ways to Keep Yourself Entertained...

It is that time of the year when people has already planned their Eid getaways. But while the vast majority prefers nothing more than to spend the holidays by the beach, many of us get stuck in the city but still want their own deal of fun. Here's what you can do in the Capital on Eid to make your stay all the more interesting.

1. Get stuck into the city's nightlife...

With Ramadan ending, many of Cairo's nightlife venues will re-open their doors at full swing with never ending supply of new events, concerts and parties and Eid extravaganzas to welcome the summer season. Keep checking our events page for more awesome nightlife outings.

2. Go kayaking on the Nile...

Speaking of the Nile, if you're feeling adventurous you can now kayak your way down the Nile, with the Nile Kayak Club offering different trips that you can enjoy. Consider it a watery alternative to sandboarding.

3. Spend the day by the pool...

Cairo doesn't have the white sandy beaches that sahel has nor the perfectly laid-back atmosphere you can find in the Red Sea, but it has plenty hotels offering pool day use packages so you can enjoy a day by the pool in the holidays. Hotels including Sofitel and Mena House offer a spectacular view for a holiday by the pool.

4. Let out some pent up anger with paintball or laser tag...

If you're looking for a fun way to spend your Eid with friends, away from the typical coffee shop outings, you can't go wrong with fun parks. Spend your holiday shooting your friends with balls filled with paint at high speeds at Adrenalin or visit Battlefield Egypt for some serious laser tag business.

5. Challenge yourself with an escape room game...

Escape Rooms make a great outing during Eid. The premise is simple; you and your friends are locked into a room where solving the clues and riddles scattered in the room within 60 minutes is the only way to escape. Escape rooms are all over Cairo, for more about their location and prices, check out our article here.

6. Defy gravity...

We all wished we could fly when we were young and since jetpacks haven't been created yet –and we can't really fly- jumping really high is the closest you'll get to flying. Antigravity centers including Airzone and Gravity Code are two popular destinations filled with trampolines that will make you literally jump for joy.

7. Go Old school and have a picnic...

Nothing beats the outdoors. Venues like the Azhar Park and Wadi Degla protectorate provide a fitting backdrop for those looking for some fun in the sun and a great weather.

8. Enjoy the views of a felluca ride...

Available all year long and even more popular during Ramadan, rent out a felucca for a boat ride to remember with a group of your friends, with lunch accompanied and music to soothe the soul all while being in the middle of the Nile.

Happy Eid!
