Hello Cairo!

A big weekend awaits across Cairo, with the cold weather finally beginning to subside. Whether you're looking for live music, art or theatre, there's plenty to see and do across the capital.

On Thursday, VENT kicks off the weekend with its biggest booking of the year, BEN UFO – Resident Advisor's #7 in 2014 Top 100 DJs – while Cairo Jazz Club host the signature indie sounds of Abo Wel Shabab, as well as local rockers, Us We Lazq.

At Fairmont Nile City's O Bar, Dr K and DJ IRMA gear up for a night of deep house and Noha Taha brings her vocal talents to Saigon Restaurant & Lounge, while the Seafood Festival returns at Napa Grill.

Zamalek restaurant-turned-nightlife-spot, Peking Lodge, hosts an apparently Funky Night featuring Hisham Blues, Motasem El Assiouty, and DJ Mo Ayad, while Dokki bar, Alchemy, invites you to start the weekend with a Margarita Fiesta,

At El Sawy Culturewheel, a night of modern Oriental music awaits courtesy of Salah El Sharnouby and his band, while El Dammah Theater hosts the magical Sudanese and Nubian rhythms of Rango.

On Friday, you can start your day with Eat & Barrel's special brunch, while later in the night, Cairo Jazz Club hosts the Hip Hop and R&B debut of DJ Moneim and Riverside hosts another edition of Riverdeep featuring Tunisian DJ Haze-M and the Awadi Brothers on opening duties.

VENT hosts Letters from my iPod with one of its cofounders, Seif, while DJ Lina Marwan takes to Garden City's Rooftop Lounge for a night of dance music.

At Fairmont Nile City, Lana takes centre stage at Saigon Restaurant & Lounge, while the Cairo Symphony Orchestra perform at Cairo Opera house.

Speaking of Cairo Opera House, fans of musicals will have to wait no longer, as two-night run of The Sounds of Music kicks off.

On Saturday, Cairo Jazz Club goes all out one last time before the weekend is over with Rock 'n' LOL, while after-hours club Bamboo welcomes one and all for another edition of Lebanese Love.

At cultural hub Darb 1718, meanwhile, dancer and choreographer, Nicole Roerick, takes to the stage for contemporary dance performance, Blink.

This week saw the 46th Cairo International Book Fair kick off at Cairo International Convention Centre; catch it before it ends!

In terms of art, new exhibitions this week include Kareem Helmy's 'Suspended Destinies' at Gallery Misr and Arts-Mart's group exhibition, 'The Artists of Tomorrow'. Other notable exhibitions worth checking out include 'Lust in Wonderland' at Art Talks and 'Back to Origins: Futuropolis III' at Saad Zaghloul Centre.

This is just a snapshot of the events across the capital this weekend – check out the Cairo 360 events calendar for more!
