Cairo is buzzing about this much-anticipated concert, and Cairo 360 wants to send you and a friend to see Sami Yusuf live in concert!
Dubbed by Time Magazine as ‘Islam’s Biggest Rock Star’, British Iranian singer Sami Yusuf has sold millions of records and sold out world tours with his touching, spiritual songs. Sung both in Arabic and English, Yusuf’s music has a universal appeal and has led him to be named among the world’s 500 Most Influential Muslims. His Cairo concert is part of his world tour for his latest album Where Ever You Are.
Our friends at Tazkarty are giving away two platinum tickets worth 400LE each to see the British-Iranian singer perform live at the Gezirah Youth Center. Following a five-year hiatus since his last album, this incredibly popular musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist should definitely not be missed.
Yusuf is no stranger to Cairo, having left a few years in the city to study Arabic after releasing his first official album, Al-Mu'allim, which went on to sell two million copies worldwide. It was his second album My Ummah that really propelled Yusuf into global recognition, though; and it went on to sell and incredible four million copies.
Sami Yusuf will be the first international artist to perform in post-revolution Egypt, and the events of January 25th inspired him to write his song ‘I’m Your Hope’, dedicated to youth around the world.
So, for a chance to see him at the Gezira Youth Centre on June 11th to mark the release of his third album Where Ever You Are, all you have to do is answer this simple question: How many years did Sami Yusuf live in Egypt for?
Send your answers to firstname.lastname@example.org, including your full name and contact details. The competition ends at midnight on June 7th, 2011; so hurry up and send your answers in!
