As one of the newest luxury hotels in Cairo, The Nile Ritz-Carlton has certainly made an impression on Egypt's capital – and if there's one thing we can say for sure about Cairenes, it's that there hard to please. From dining to wellness, the hotel has it all and for the city's foodies, they have something pretty special in store, thanks to two Michelin-star chef, Oliver Glowig.
From October 27th till November 3rd, the acclaimed chef is taking over the kitchen of The Nile Ritz-Carlton restaurant, Vivo, bringing his trademark use of white Alba truffle to a specially conceived menu that will be available throughout what is shaping up to be a special week.
The week will begin with a special event hosted where attendees will witness Glowig in action through some live cooking demonstration and, most excitingly, feast on a five-course menu, which has also been paired with a selection of top wines, all to the background of the classical sounds of an opera performance.
Cairo 360's reviewers have often pined for some truly authentic Italian cuisine over the years – Cairo's restaurants just can't seem to get it right - but in this special collaboration between Chef Glowig and The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo will get a truly unique take on soups, risottos and even ice cream, each infused with white truffle – one of the most valuable commodities you can find in high-end kitchens around the world.
With Chef Glowig at the wheel, this shaping up to be one of the most lavish gastronomical events of the year, adding to the considerable clout that The Nile Ritz-Carlton has amassed in its short but remarkable lifetime.
