They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and only in a money-hungry, capitalist 21st century would three tribute bands become big enough to embark on a world tour. That being said, this event on Wednesday June 27th is the closest thing we will ever get to seeing the likes of Pink Floyd and Queen performing live. Why Coldplay has been equated to these rock heavyweights is a mystery, but alas, each to their own.
What? Cairo 360 have teamed up with Tazkarty to give away two pairs of VIP tickets to the Masters of Rock concert, each of which would otherwise burn a 300LE hole in your wallet. With some of the best seats in the house, you'll be close enough to reach out and touch fake Freddy Mercury's fake moustache.
Why? Because we’ve had enough of house music in this city, and Pink Floyd and Queen are a good starting point for a musical re-education. No comment about Coldplay.
Where? In the basking sandy view of the Pyramids. More accustomed to hosting the Sound & Light Show or the occasional Aida performance, has anyone thought about the possible ramifications of such sound pollution on the already unstable Pyramids and Sphinx?
How do I get my hands on it? It’s easy, just answer this almost-rock-relevant question: How many times has the insufferable genius that is Morrissey released his debut album Viva Hate? (The answer is in our review)
Now what? Send your answers to freestuff@cairo360.com, including your full name and contact details. The competition ends at midnight on June 23th, 2012; so hurry up and send your answers in! Terms and Conditions apply.
