Egyptian Minister of Immigration, Nabila Karam, posted a video on Instagram yesterday that shows her playing with children in Fayoum. This came as part of the governmental initiative Marakeb El Nagah (The Lifeboat) that the Ministry of Immigration is currently campaigning.
“With the students in Fayoum, doing simple activities within the framework of raising awareness about the risks of illegal immigration,” said the minister on Instagram.
The initiative focuses on raising awareness about illegal immigration and its dangerous consequences, which targets various members of the society, including students of the preparatory and secondary stages.
According to Ahram, the initiative aims to reach 150,000 citizens in the governorate. Governor of Fayoum, Ahmed Al Ansari, said that they are putting into consideration the circumstances that affect young people’s decision in resorting to illegal immigration and putting themselves in danger.
