Sizzler: A Meat Lover’s Dream

The world is full of beauty and goodness, and on top of it all, or probably a close second after ice cream, is meat. It really doesn’t matter what type of meat you like or how you eat it; you’re always guaranteed to enjoy your time. Unless, of course, you’re eating a well-done steak, in which case, you’re better off becoming vegan. A restaurant that takes meat to another level is Sizzler Steakhouse. The place is a paradise for meat lovers, whether it’s beef, chicken or even seafood!

We decided to the Cairo Festival City branch on a Friday night which, to be honest, was a grave mistake because we had to wait for almost 90 minutes before we could get a table. After waiting that long, it was hard to be subjective in the review, but we were hoping the food would be so good that it would make it up for the waiting time, and it definitely did!

We started with a decision that people might consider weird. We ordered seafood for appetisers. Seafood in a steakhouse! But it was the best decision of the entire night. We went with Creamy Seafood Soup and Sweet Chilly Shrimp. The shrimp tasted good, but it had too much sweet chilly sauce, which was less than ideal but acceptable. However, the same can’t be said for the soup. This was, undisputedly, the best thing we tried all evening. It was rich and creamy to an extent we have never experienced. The soup was so good that we wanted to order it twice, but it was too late for that as our main course arrived.

The nice thing about Sizzler is that you can get multiple kinds of meat on the same plate, so we ordered Jumbo Steak with Shrimp, and Steak with Grilled Chicken. We wanted a medium-rare steak, but the waiter insisted that it wouldn’t suit our taste and that we should go for medium-well. We ordered as he suggested, and it didn’t taste bad at all, but a medium-rare would have been much better. The meat itself was definitely in the top three steaks we’ve ever tried. The sad part is that they only serve grilled tenderloin, AKA fillet, steak, which is not bad by any means, but some variety would have been appreciated.

The overall experience was really great. The problems we faced were mainly the waiting time, too much sauce in almost everything we ordered. The good part was the food, especially the Seafood Soup, and the amazing value for money. Sizzler is probably the most bang you can get for your buck.
