Live performances are quite a few this evening with De7ka band performing at Sufi; Screwdriver lead singer, Shahab Kassab, will perform solo at Indigo restaurant and making her debut appearance at Cairo Jazz Club, Maii Waleed joins forces with Massar Egbari for a jazzy take on today’s social issues. Jazz Mate offers some more jazz with an evening of ‘Live Jazz’.

Bikya Takes over C-Town celebrates the bookshop’s second anniversary over three days starting tonight at their Maadi branch, only to move onto different venues – check their Facebook event to stay informed. 

Take a trip to the iconic Café Riche for a screening of Arabic film, ‘The Thug Factory’, or make your way to Darb 1718 for the launch of ‘Recording Against Regimes’; an exhibition of videos from Poland in the 1980s and Germany in the 1990s.

If you happen to wake up fresh and energetic on Friday morning then there are a lot of shopping opportunities to be taken advantage of spread all over the city. The Marriott hotel in Zamalek hosts a Spring Festival brought to you by Feminine Touch, while out in 6th October a Mother’s Day Carnival at Mall of Arabia helps you prepare for this special day. Cairo Flea Market joins the influx of bazaars that carry through the weekend with an event dedicated to Mother’s Day at Designopolis, while Nūn Center helps keep you healthy with another edition of their Farmer’s Market.

For some live music, Norient, aka Thomas Burkhalter, offers a trippy experience at 100Copies Music Space, while shaabi group, No Comment, are back in their slot at Downtown’s After Eight; Nubian singer, Basheer, will be at Cairo Jazz Club and El Sawy Culturewheel welcomes Omar Khairat to their stage.

The Amicis are going as strong as ever, with Greek Night and Wine & Fondue Night happening in the Heliopolis and Zamalek branches, respectively.
