Film festivals are more than just a series of movie screenings; they are more of a time to appreciate the value of cinema, and filmmaking in general. One of the most admirable qualities of film festivals is the aspect of diversity, which is conveying movies from across the globe to be seen and enjoyed by international audiences. Egyptian festivals are no exception, starting with the upcoming 12th edition of The Panorama of the European film that will take place from the 6th until the 16th of November.

The festival, according to its Facebook page, is an annual event that showcases award-winning feature and documentary productions from across Europe in Cairo, which was founded in 2004. It is funded by the European Union in collaboration with European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC). We explored the website for further information on the festival, entries, as well as the tickets and this is what we could find.

Regarding the event itself, the event was originally launched by Misr International Films and was officially formed into a legal corporation in 2014. Throughout the 11 days, “it offers a parallel program that includes workshops and masterclasses with international film industry guests.”  In addition, eight main criteria are introduced, including main narrative features, emerging directors, documentaries, special screenings, and more. You can check out all the diverse entries right here, hailing from countries, such as Iceland, Greece, Sweden, and many others.

To book your ticket, all you have to do is book online or on-spot at Zawya Cinema for 50LE, or at Zamalek Cinema for 60LE (regular) and 100LE (balcony). The prices, registration process, as well as the terms and conditions for the students, press, professionals, and freelancers can be found on the website. Check out the schedule:
