Festively attired for March, Cairo is brimming with a diversity of events, celebrations, and festival that will set its dwellers the right mood for springtime. Among this long trail of happenings, stands out one unique festival, which, not only takes over Cairo, but also extends to various major cities in the nation, like Alexandria, Port Said, and Fayoum. It’s the annual festival that serves the colourful Indian culture on a silver plate; Ladies and Gents, India by the Nile.

Courtesy of the Egyptian Embassy of India in Cairo, and events company Teamwork Arts, India by the Nile debuted in 2013 to share and celebrate its rich heritage with the Egyptians. Taking place between the 2nd and 10th of March at a variety of venues across the named cities, this year’s edition of India by the Nile offers a spectrum of events that cater to all tastes.

Delivering classics with a twist of modernity, the events cover many arts, including dance and performance, theatre, music, in addition to the exceptional culinary arts festival Food Fiesta, which takes place at Downtown’s InterContinental Cairo Semiramis, where Chef Vikram Udaygiri and his team will display their talents and flavours.
