During a press conference held earlier today by the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, new rules and regulations were announced regarding the nation’s health during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Starting from tomorrow and lasting for two weeks, a curfew will be imposed from 7.00 PM to 6.00 AM, during which all public and private transportation will be suspended.
All malls, shops, and restaurants will shut from 5.00 PM to 6.00 AM, except for delivery services. However, they will be completely closed during the weekend (Fridays and Saturday) – except for supermarkets and bakery shops.
Governmental services will be shut down for the upcoming two weeks, except for health offices for newborns and deaths.
As for schools and universities, the suspension period has been extended for another two weeks, with the same applying to gyms and sporting clubs.
During this state of emergency, anyone who does not abide by the rules and regulations will face fines or incarceration. We hope everyone stays safe at home during such tough times.
