Getting your nails done is one of those pampering procedures that promises to keep you in a good mood for a while. Doing nails is a delicate art and, besides good technique, requires a high level of cleanliness and hospitality. Last weekend we urgently needed a place that was open on the national holiday, and that’s when we stumbled on The Pink Room in New Cairo.
Looking for The Pink Room in G Out mall isn’t hard. When you walk in, you will find a sign that points you to a very unmistakable door. We say unmistakable because it looks like the door that leads to the princess’ suite in a fairy-tale castle. Definitely off to a good start. We didn’t call in advance to make an appointment, and the receptionist immediately said it would be impossible to do a gel appointment on the spot. But luck intervened, and one of the technicians became free, and they were able to fit us in. The Pink Room is on the small side, but we would probably call it cosy; its interior is comforting, and the ambience is feminine, to say the least. There’s nothing so “in your face” like pink walls and soothing fountains, with just enough subtle decor to signal that this is a female space to be enjoyed in seclusion and away from any otherworldly distractions. The technician led us to her workstation and gently started her ministrations. We chose a simple order of gel extensions (540 LE) since it was our first time in this enchanted small place. She started on our cuticles then moved onto the actual process of adding extensions and forming the nails. She was extremely gentle with the sensitive skin and took care to check in on the preferred aesthetics every step of the way. At the end of the session, we were content with the results and left there feeling fierce with our newly manicured nails, and excited to tackle the next week of work and social life head-on.
Was it the most thorough and perfected nail experience we’ve ever had? No. Was it effective, convenient, comfortable and affordable? Definitely. Our chat with the technician was easy enough. She even invited us to get anything readjusted whenever we needed it free of charge! We’re definitely paying The Pink Room another visit soon to try their famous hair and face treatments that everyone talks about.
