Malak Gharib
At the southern tip of Sinai, Four Seasons Resort Sharm el-Sheikh offers more than just sun and sand. This summer, it’s all about what lies beneath. With direct access to the Red Sea, the resort serves as a launchpad for some of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring underwater experiences, including coral reefs, shipwrecks, and moonlit marine shows.
Dive Right In
The on-site PADI Dive Centre opens up a world of coral gardens, schools of technicolour fish, and the occasional sea turtle or dolphin. Whether you’re scuba-certified or sticking to the surface, there’s no shortage of marine life just steps from the shore. Snorkelers can explore the house reef or join longer guided trips to nearby hotspots, such as Ras Mohammed or Tiran Island.
Wreckage & Wonders
For those with diving experience, the Red Sea’s sunken stories are worth exploring. Head to the 19th-century Dunraven, now a coral-covered relic, or visit the Kormoran, just a few meters below the surface in the Straits of Tiran. These historic wrecks combine archaeology with ecology in a surreal underwater experience.
Night Dives & Neon Seas
As the sun sets, a new kind of marine life emerges. Night dives reveal creatures unseen by daylight, and on moonlit evenings, the sea often glows with bioluminescent plankton. No special lights are needed, just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to float through nature’s own light show.
Above Water Adventures
Not everything happens below the surface. The resort also offers a wide range of water sports. Parasailing gives bird’s-eye views of the coastline, while stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking offer a more relaxed way to glide across the water. Beginners are welcome, gear and guidance are provided.
Sail Away in Style
For those who prefer leisure over adrenaline, the resort’s dive centre has three yachts available for private charter. Whether it’s a day trip with friends or a romantic sunset cruise, everything from snacks to snorkels is taken care of. Just show up and set sail.
Snapshots of the Sea
Guests can book underwater photography sessions to document their aquatic adventures, ideal for divers and snorkelers alike. There are also guided marine life tours that go beyond sightseeing, offering insight into the fragile ecosystem and ongoing conservation efforts in the region.
