There are many untold stories about the victory on the 6th of October, some of which have only been shared orally and lack visual documentation. This narrative focuses on how we can give these stories shape and texture.

From One Medium to The Next

Over the years, we’ve been hearing stories of extraordinary heroism during the war. Still, most of what remains are word testimonies and, of course, great works of art from Egyptian cinema classics. Today, technology has brought these stories back to life.

A short documentary film, entirely made by artificial intelligence and produced by PMC Egypt, has recreated a forgotten act of October heroism. One of the victories didn’t have any pictures or filmed scenes, but now it is presented before our eyes in a lifelike way that makes you feel like you were there on the battlefield.

The Artist, The Inspiration, and The Product

What’s even more remarkable is that this experiment was conducted by a single person, Sherif Hossny, from the PMC Egypt Production team. What inspired him to do this was the fact that his father was one of the heroes of the 6th of October War. His passion to bring back to life his father’s story and the entire story of the war sprang from this, so that these heroic deeds would remain alive in our consciousness and not be forgotten over time.

The film is not just a technical experiment; it is a new step in the field of documentation. Artificial intelligence can animate old photos, bringing them to life and transforming them into realistic scenes that we are witnessing for the first time. This not only takes us back to the heroic deeds of the war, but also opens a new door to telling our history in a contemporary visual form, reaching new generations who interact with images more than words.

AI As a Tool for National Memory

This film demonstrates that a vast expanse of history still awaits recounting, and that artificial intelligence is not just a technical tool, but could also serve as a means, if used morally, of preserving national memory and bringing our forgotten heroics and stories to life.

The work is a pioneering experience that could change the face of film documentation in Egypt and the Arab world. This is the first step in a long journey, through which we can rediscover many stories that have been forgotten or overlooked. You can check out the film trailer here.
