The Bun Father Brings Its Gourmet Smash Burgers From Sokhna to Maadi

Cairo’s burger scene certainly isn’t short on options, but every now and then, a new spot gives burger lovers another reason to get excited. After starting its journey in Sokhna, The Bun Father has made its way to Cairo, bringing its take on gourmet smash burgers to Maadi. The concept is built around the kind of food you order when you’re properly hungry: smashed burgers, crispy chicken, loaded fries, fried sides, and plenty of sauces for dipping. But beyond the food, The Bun Father also has a playful side, particularly when it comes to how some of its meals are served.

From Sokhna to Maadi

Before landing in Cairo, The Bun Father started out in Sokhna, eventually expanding its burger concept to Maadi. The atmosphere follows the same laid-back spirit as the menu. It’s casual and easy-going, making it the kind of place to drop by with friends when the plan revolves around burgers, fries, and a table full of sides rather than anything too formal. And for those staying in, The Bun Father is also available on Talabat, bringing its burgers and sides straight to your door.

Meet The Made Man

Naturally, we had to start with the burger. We went for The Made Man (199 EGP), The Bun Father’s famous cheeseburger, which comes with French fries. It keeps the spotlight where it should be at a smash burger spot: on the burger itself, with the fries completing that familiar, no-fuss combination. It’s also a good introduction to what The Bun Father is about before moving on to the considerably more extravagant side of the menu.

The Full Package Is Quite Literally a Full Package

Then came one of the most memorable orders of the visit: The Full Package (250 EGP). Instead of arriving in a conventional box or tray, the whole meal comes in a clever cone-shaped cup designed to hold everything at once. Spicy crispy chicken bites, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and French fries are arranged around the top, while the cola sits at the bottom of the cone. A straw emerges from the middle, so you can sip your drink while picking your way through the surrounding food.

Two sauces of your choice come with it, adding another element to an order that already feels more like an experience than a standard combo meal. The presentation is fun, practical, and definitely catches your attention when it arrives. More importantly, there’s plenty to work your way through, from crispy chicken and crunchy onion rings to mozzarella sticks and fries.

Loaded Fries Because Regular Fries Weren’t Enough

Of course, when the menu has Loaded Crispy Fries (200 EGP), stopping at ordinary fries would have been far too sensible. The loaded version takes a familiar side dish and turns it into something far more substantial, making it an easy one to place in the middle of the table and share, especially if you’re already working your way through burgers and The Full Package. By this point, restraint probably isn’t part of the plan. But at a place dedicated to gourmet smash burgers and loaded comfort food, it really doesn’t need to be.

From a Sokhna Start to a New Maadi Burger Stop

The Bun Father doesn’t try to complicate what people love about burger spots. The food is indulgent, the atmosphere is casual, and there’s enough variety beyond the burgers to make ordering for the table half the fun. The creative presentation of The Full Package gives the concept an extra playful touch, while The Made Man keeps things closer to the classic burger-and-fries experience.

360 Tip

Come hungry and order The Full Package to share. It’s the most fun way to try several of The Bun Father’s sides in one go.

Best Bit

The Full Package steals the show with its fun cone-shaped presentation, bringing crispy chicken, sides, sauces, and cola together in one creative order.

Worst Bit

With so many fried and loaded options, the meal can get quite heavy, especially if you’re ordering several dishes to share.
