‘Port of Memory’ & ‘Wadjda’ Screenings at Goethe Institute
The Goethe Institute screens two films; ‘Port of Memory’ and ‘Wadjda’. The first is a Palestinian piece, following the suffering of residents of Jaffa – a small town under Israeli oppression. The latter, ‘Wadjda’, directed by the first female Saudi filmmmaker Haifaa Al Mansour, tells the story of a young Saudi girl who signs up for a Quran recitation contest, hoping to win the grand prize that will afford her a bicycle.
