In 2013, Coke’s Studio Bel 3arabi launched its second season. Hosted by Abdel Fattah El Grini and Bruna Tameih, this edition was the best yet of the renowned show. The season featured some of our favourite regional and international stars. Hosting an unforgettable launching episode, Sherine and Nelly collaborated on Just A Dream, a performance that gained widespread attention on TikTok 10 years from the original performance day, spreading like wildfire across social media. In celebration of the unforgettable memories from season two, let’s revisit some of our all-time favourite tracks from this extraordinary season.

Fire/Ethbat Makanak – Cairokee & Ayo

Bringing Egypt and Nigeria together, Cairokee collaborated with Ayo on the fusion song Fire/Ethbat Makanak. Putting together the show’s third episode, the song has received significant recognition for its exceptional beats and beautiful lyrics, showcasing the best of both artist’s work.

Rise Up – Waed & Yves Larock

The gifted Saudi singer and entertainer Waed and the outstanding Swiss DJ and producer Yves Larock combined their talents to create episode 7’s fusion track Rise Up, where Arabian Gulf vocals met house music. Integrating a few tunes using oud to house music was the track’s highlight, which was extremely well-received.

Wild Ones – Myriam Fares & Flo Rida

Prominent Lebanese singer and “Queen of the Stage” Myriam Fares joined forces with American rapper Flo Rida, giving an Arabian twist to one of his most iconic hits, Wild Ones. With Myriam’s relatively Western style and her voice perfectly matching the beats, the song was a sweet spot between Arabian and Western art.

Down – Shamma Hamdan & Jay Sean

Emirati star Shamma Hamdan came together with renowned British singer-songwriter and rapper Jay Sean. Making the fifth of the season, the two stars brought Arabic vocals to R&B, creating unique beats that resonate in Down.

Just A Dream – Sherine & Nelly

Lastly, the first episode of season two brought two icons together, Sherine and Nelly. Launching the hit song Just A Dream only to be brought back to life ten years later on Egyptian TikTok feed, the song keeps taking us back to memories of Coke Studio with a pleasant combination of two styles of music and a timeless beat.
