In light of the current unfortunate situation, live entertainment events have come to a halt, and people have been urged to remain at home to avoid spreading the virus. It’s kind of depressing to see our lively city so quiet, but safety comes first. However, several artists, as well as some venues, have decided to shake things up a bit by streaming live gigs to lift your spirits while staying at home.

Known to be a Mecca to all music lovers from all over the city, ROOM Art Space announced it’s hosting online events, which will commence this Thursday at 9.00 PM with local rock & roll band Retrograde taking to the stage for a round of tunes. The gig is free; however, you can still show some love and support by purchasing any number of tickets.

In a Facebook post, Jordanian artist Aziz Marka announced going live on the same social media platform this Friday at 7.00 PM, Jordan local time. Since there’s no time difference between Egypt and Jordan, the gig will start at the same time in Cairo.

Local Arabic rock band, Massar Egbari, also posted a teaser post on their Facebook page promising their fans an upcoming online gig, the date of which is yet to be announced. What we are sure of is that the concert will be live on YouTube.

Other than live performances, El Sawy Culturalwheel’s YouTube Channel, El Sakia TV, will be posting previous concerts to keep fans entertained until further notice.

You see? You can still enjoy Cairo’s events at the comfort of your home. Tit’s true every cloud has a silver lining.
