The Definitive Guide to Living in the Capital , Cairo , Egypt

Cinephiles, assemble! At the end of April, Zawya Cinema will be hosting Cairo Cinema Days: a film festival that brings together movie masterpieces from around the Arab world, right here to our beloved Cairo. Cinemas such as Cimatheque, Karim Cinema, and Zamalek Cinema will be screening the movies from the 23^rd of April until the 30^th, and below, we have the full selection of the 34 films from the Arab region.

The movies are categorised into Narrative films, Documentaries, and Shorts. You can also find different movie-related talks to enrich your cinematic knowledge. One of the movies we’re most excited about is Looking for Oum Kulthum, a passion project by the Iranian filmmaker and visual artist, Shirin Neshat. This stars our very own Egyptian actress, Yasmin Raeis. Perhaps another promising film is Raed Andoni’s Documentary, Ghost Hunting.
