Cinephiles should already know about this, but if you fell out of the loop, we’re here to tell you that Zawya is hosting yet another film festival this November. Panorama of the European Film is organised by production company Aflam Masr El Alamia, Zawya Cinema, and in collaboration with the European Union.

The festival was first launched in 2004 as an 11-day annual festival. It showcases the recent and prominent European productions, whether films or documentaries, those that have won international awards. Panorama of the European Film also shows classic movies from the European cinema.

This time around is the 11th edition of Panorama of the European Film. It will show 65 movies from 26 European countries. You can catch the shows at Zawya Cinema, Zamalek Cinema, the French Institution, and Goethe Institut. There are also select screenings in Alexandria, Ismailia, Port Said, Assiut, Damietta, Al-Mansoura, Al-Minya, Qena, and Al-Zaqaziq.

We’re so glad to see Egypt hosting such cultural events, and hope that this gives Egyptian cinema a chance to grow and rival international movies and festivals. To learn more about the festival and the screenings, check out the full schedule here.
