Things have been a bit gloomy since Egypt’s unfortunate early elimination from AFCON 2019 after its loss to South Africa. But maybe, we can take solace in the fact that after the past month of fans sitting on the edge of their seats almost every day, as they watched, anticipated, and celebrated, a phenomenal event is planned for tomorrow!
According to Sada El Balad English (SEE), Egyptian star and sweetheart, Donia Samir Ghanem, will perform at the closing ceremony of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations at Cairo Stadium. She will be performing “Wadeena Enharda” (Here We Are) in collaboration with the Ghanaian-English recording artist, Nana Richard Abiona, more commonly known by his stage name, Fuse ODG. He is best known for his 2013 single, Antenna, and for featuring in Major Lazer’s Light It Up (Remix), each of which peaked at number 7 in the UK Singles Chart.
For those interested in more details about the song, it was written by Amir Teima, composed by Hisham Gamal, and distributed by Mady. We predict that the show will be as amazing as the opening performance by Egyptian folk singer, Hakim, alongside Nigerian, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, and Ivorian Dobet Gnahoré. The ceremony will start at 7 pm before Algeria’s match against Senegal at 9 pm. May the best team win!
