Your favourite drama series actor, Yehia El Fakharani, is set to return to Cairo Show Theater in the Egyptian rendition of Shakespeare’s famous play, King Lear. The show will be back on stage in New Cairo on the 13th of December and continue for three more dates on the 20th, 27th and 31st.

The play launched earlier this year in April, and it was also shown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It’s directed by Tamer Karam, and also stars Ahmed Fouad Selim, Rania Farid Shawky, Reham Abdel Ghaffour, Heba Magdy, Magdy Kamel, among others. The script was translated by Dr Fatma Moussa.

According to El Dostor, El Fakharani will not be starring in a Ramadan series next year. This is due to the fact he could not find a role that was interesting enough.

Shakespeare’s story tells a tale of a king who decides to divide his realm among his three daughters, Cordelia, Regan, and Goneril. He plans to give the largest part of his kingdom to the one who loves him most. His favourite daughter, Cordelia, refuses to partake in such a scheme, so he disowns her as a result. She leaves him with his two cunning sisters, who join forces against their father and ultimately bring about his downfall. When he decides to seek help from his most beloved daughter, Cordelia, a series of unfortunate events unravel.
