Another Wednesday, another batch of entertainment; all you movie lovers out there, gather around to see some of Cairo cinema’s new releases. Here’s what to expect:

Doctor Sleep:

What is it about? Remember that little kid from the classic horror The Shining, who used to run around that gruesome hotel grunting “Redrum”. Yes, it’s the now-adult Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor), who’s on a quest to save a young girl from a cult.

The good? It’s based on a novel by renowned writer Stephen King, and directed and screen-written by Mike Flanagan; the man behind some famous horror titles, including Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Oculus. It’s also interesting to see how names like Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson will fare. Lastly, if you happen to be a fan of The Shining, you will be intrigued to see what goes on.

The bad? We tried our best to find fault with this one, but Doctor Sleep’s rating on IMDb is 7.5, which means that it has something to say. But still, who knows?

Midway:

What is it about? Directed by Roland Emmerich, this war movie follows World War II’s Battle of Midway. Midwaystars Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Luke Evans, Aaron Eckhart, Mandy Moore, and Woody Harrelson.

The good?Have you read all of the names listed above?Add to that Nick Jonas and Dennis Quaid, et voile; a star-studded movie that you don’t want to miss. It’s worth mentioning that Roland Emmerich is the director of films like Godzilla, The Patriot, and The Day After Tomorrow.

The bad? It might be a personal opinion, but with all the political drama happening in the world right now; do we really want to watch a war movie for entertainment? Something tells us this one will be a tear-jerker, so if you are soft-hearted, stay away from it.

Playing with Fire:

What is it about? This family comedy follows a firefighting crew whose most challenging mission is yet to come; having to deal with three siblings, and a dog.

The good?Well, if you are looking for a light-hearted movie, or you are John Cena fan, you’ll probably want to see this one. If you are going to embrace it for what it is, then it may well be your cup of tea.

The bad? Tough-looking guys exploring their soft sides with cute children and a dog –isn’t it another edition of Vin Diesel’s The Pacifier, or Dwayne Johnson’s Tooth Fairy?

That’s not all, folks; check our cinema times page for more.
