Tired of studying in libraries and cafes? Finals season is upon us, and work is as intense as ever, so here are a few places to change it up to refresh your study vigour and brighten your mood!

The Nady

Skip getting into the argument over which nady, or club, makes the better venue. There are plenty of options to choose from in Cairo. Go to the one you’re a member of or leech off a friend’s ticket to clubs like Nady Al Shams or Nady El Seid. You could sit in a peaceful garden surrounded by cheap food options and even charge your electronics in a nearby lounge (or outdoor outlet if you’re lucky!)

On the theme of studying in nature, Cairo has a variety of gardens great for peaceful focus among gorgeous greenery. But you’ve been warned; there will be no WiFi, and you’ll struggle to charge your devices, so get a portable charger or just make it a tech-free session. Try Umm Kulthum Garden in Zamalek or Al Azhar Park for a particularly gorgeous aesthetic!

All-You-Can-Eat Restaurants

While this idea may seem counterproductive to a productive study session, what’s more motivating than working with an unlimited supply of food? Grab a laptop and your notebook and go to any of Cairo’s many all-you-can-eat spots, like Arigato for sushi or The Tap for chicken wings, making a unique work session. While it might be loud, you can grab a pair of headphones or noise-blockers; it’s worth it.

By the Pool

To channel a bit of that influencer spirit, one interesting idea is to grab your textbook, notebook, or even laptop, and treat yourself to a day pass by the pool at a hotel near you. Read in the middle of relative peace during the day and take a dip to refresh your mind before getting back to it later. If you’re careful with water near your electronics, this luxurious idea is worth trying!

While this is one of the louder options – it is right next to a buffet, so anyone interested in a long-haul session can opt for the various immediate meal options. However, what really makes this a winner is how customers can help themselves to as many free refills of coffee as they please! Plus, the seating is next to a wall of glass with great sunlight and a view of the rest of Cairo Festival City Mall.
