Behind every great woman is another woman. So whether it’s a mother, a grandmother, an idol, or inspiring figures, the people who want to push women to reach the highest of their potential are mostly other women as well.
May 24th held the first session of the first cycle of Creative Industry Summit’s online platform “She Strikes”, titled “The Leaders”. The point of this platform is to connect, motivate, and guide new generations to create a pathway between them, where young women have powerful women from various fields to look up to and feel guided by.
Demonstrating this during its first session, the platform featured one of the most inspirational strikers in Egypt: Dr Maya Morsy, who in 2016 became the youngest president of Egypt’s National Council for Women. This is, of course, to bring those powerful leading women closer to the younger minds, who seek to learn from them, be inspired by their success, and hope to one day succeed and strive like them.
The targeted demographic is young and aspiring, new graduates with age groups varying from 18 years and above, whether that be high school or university students, to employees and CEOs with different professions and careers across Egypt.
The sessions are monthly, and each is an hour-long, featuring a new striker to empower and inspire other women. The hour-long sessions revolve around the female striker sharing her story and achievements.
Words are a powerful thing, and a woman using them to create a pathway between herself and other women is more than just the narration of a story; it’s an act of resistance, the sharing of the secrets of the world so that they are no longer kept secret. It’s also about telling other women that if they did it, so can the younger generations.
As the co-founder of Creative Summit Industry, Mai Salama states:
“This is a vital aspect of the C—S (Creative Industry Summit) platform…which seeks to help everyone reach their next level of success while also contributing to the acceleration of the creative economy. Today, I’m delighted to say that Egypt’s lifeblood of a creative economy is guiding tomorrow’s leaders and strikers through our online space”.
Those eager to attend can submit the registration form on the website and wait for a confirmation email with the invitation link. Better yet, by the end of each live session, a competition will be running, where four lucky winners will get the opportunity to have a one-on-one meeting with the striker of the session.
Each cycle will also end with a mega event to bring together all the strikers of the process, one-on-one winners, and everyone who was part of this platform.
