The Definitive Guide to Living in the Capital , Cairo , Egypt

SURPRISE SURPRISE, the wait is finally over! With the excitement mounting and speculation swirling all year long, all you cinephiles are obviously glad to hear that the 91st edition of the OSCARS is almost here! 

In commemoration of this year’s Academy Awards, Zawya will host hundreds of Cairo’s most devoted film fans from Wednesday the 20th of February until the evening of the 27th; Zawya will be screening 12 Academy Award nominated films. This is no surprise, of course, considering that Zawya has always been a faithful host to thousands of iconic foreign and local films. 

As such, a short-list of hand-picked films are going to air at Zawya. The complete guide to the week’s schedule, with descriptions of the movies to be aired at the venue, are available on Facebook. Tickets will be available starting Tuesday the 19th.
