Last November, on Friday the 29th, Cairo saw a unique festival at the Dusit Thani Lakeview hotel in New Cairo. Gathered there were the nation’s most exquisite jewellery and watch brands, all under one roof. Courtesy of A to Z  Home of Media, the first edition of the Jewellery ‎and Watches Festival, (JWF), which celebrated the craft, offered all the jewellery devotees in town a sneak peek of the latest collections of a variety of brands.

The brands included renowned names like Egypt Gold, Egy Diamonds, BTC Gold, Souq El-Dahab, as well as Lady Pearl, Al Seba Jewellery, Joya, Jewellery, Levon Yervant, Eclat, and many more. Also, JWF tapped on serious matters that concern this art, hosting some of the crafts masterminds to discuss the industry’s future, the challenges it faces, and its impact on investment and economy.

The event also hosted a couple of fashion shows by some local designers. They included Sally Mounir, who presented a stunning bridal collection, as well as Bahig Hussein, whose winter collection is the fruit of a creative collaboration with Egypt Gold. It boasted various outfits and dresses that suit all occasions, with Hussein’s pieces incorporating gold in the design.  

A to Z Home of Media’s successful venture is but a stepping stone for the second edition of the event, which is set to take place in March 2020.
