Cairo Weekend Guide: 29th July Weekend

Cairo Weekend Guide: 29th July Weekend

Dear Cairo,
when will this steamy weather let up? We’ve nearly exhausted ourselves researching pools,
indoor air-conditioned fun and delicious food to eat. We’ve decided that this
weekend is all about kicking back and relaxing in the Capital; so here we go.

This Thursday night, Stiletto Lounge in Giza is hosting a party with Club Legends, a
lineup of UK DJs Robert Pereno and Danny Rampling and local DJ Carlos From Nile FM. If you
can’t get enough of the nightclub, they also have a rather creatively named Watermelon Party on Friday.

For a little cultural enlightment, check out Al Geneina Theatre this Thursday, where El
Fateh Hussein
will a live music show. For something a
little livelier this Thursday, check out +IVE
Energy
at the Cairo Jazz club, or local band Eskenderella performing at El Sawy Culturewheel. DJ Tronik spins the Jazz Club on Friday
with a mix of house, hip hop and R&B.

We’ve come across an exciting new discovery
this week with Osmanly restaurant at
the newly opened Kempinski Hotel– Turkish cuisine to swoon over, to put it
lightly. For an early evening outing, Breeze
Café
in Katameya offers some rare serenity: if you’re lucky enough to be a member of
the resort, enjoy a dip in the pool, or join the rest of us gazing at its
sparkling waters from the shore while you enjoy a coffee or a treat. Speaking of
which, we’ve tracked down Treats, a
cosy new arrival in Zamalek that serves delicious waffles. Cairo
360 continues to scout out Cairo
pools for your relaxation benefit, so try the family-oriented Nile Country Club, but be warned: the place is packed on weekends.

Feeling like basking in a spot of old-world
British culture? Stop by Harry’s Pub for
some camaraderie and their dainty fish and chips. The heat has us scouting out
some suitable open air venues, such as Karvin
Hotel Rooftop Bar
and the Lotus Inn
Bar
,
where you can relax and watch Cairo’s
skyline light up at night.
