With the weather getting a little warmer, it seems like Cairenes are finally plucking up the courage to venture out of the warmth of their bedrooms on weekends – and it couldn’t have come at a better time. From Cairo Jazz Club and Zigzag, to ROOM Art Space and 3elbt Alwan, there’s plenty to see and do across the capital.

One of the biggest events on Thursday is set to take place at Cairo Jazz Club, where a stacked line-up of Finrod, The Meteors Project and the elusive NeoByrd take to the stage.

Elsewhere on the nightlife front, a noisy night on the Giza Corniche awaits, with Wunder Kind set to welcome its own stacked line-up featuring Gawdat, Hafez and A-Squared, while Zigzag is set to kick off its weekend with Jimmy and Ouzo taking to the stage for House Night.

One of the most popular DJ duos in Cairo right now, Disco Misr, are set to perform at The Tap, meanwhile,  while over in New Cairo at The Tap East, Misty is the man in charge of the music.

Away from the thump-thump of nightlife, Eslam El Sha’ary takes to the stage at Garden City’s ROOM Art Space, while Al Rab3 Cultural Centre welcomes Sufi chanting collective, Al Hadra.

The fun at Cairo Jazz Club continues into Friday, with progressive house favourite, Mohasseb, returns, while over at Zigzag welcomes Richard R. and SHIHA for Club Night and Ramy DJunkie gets funky at The Tap East.

At the other end of the musical scale, Latin music is on the menu at The Tap Maadi where Llego La Banda perform, while Maadi bar, Cheers, welcomes Amr Hosny for a night of 60s, 70 and 80s classics.

More local bands are set to perform, meanwhile, including Egypt’s longest-running rock band, Andromeda, who perform at El Gomhouria Theatre.

Saturday is a little quieter, with Cairo Jazz Club ending the weekend with popular local group, El Dor El Awal

Elsewhere, hip-hop is the order of the day at The Tap East, where DJ Mobbz takes to the decks, while over at The Tap Maadi, things are set to go retro with Sewwes providing the music at Saturday Night Fever.
