Here comes a special weekend for all the city’s love birds out there; Valentine’s Day is on Friday, which means you can’t escape spending a romantic night with your boo. As for the lonely hearts, we’ve bored you with articles about the lovey-dovey season, so, as an apology, we’re listing some events that will cater to your status.

Thursday starts with Romance Band performing some tunes on the stage at El Sawy Culturewheel, while local band, Kahareb, takes to the stage at ROOM Art Space Garden City, serving a round of contemporary Arabic numbers.

When the night grows older, Cairo Jazz Club 610 hosts another edition of Impulse, with a lineup of Sebzz, WhoMadeWho, and Adana Twins, while Cairo Jazz Club’s night is all about live music, with a bight of pop and rock, courtesy of Retrograde, and Amro & the Big Bang Boogie. Elsewhere, The Tap West welcomes local Coldplay cover band, Strawberry Swing, to the stage, DJ Lyon spins some pop tunes on the decks at The Tap East, while it’s all about hip-hop and R&B at The Tap Maadi, where DJ Doggy Dogg is on the menu.

As for Friday, there are a humongous number of romantic nights in the city, check them out here, and here. Yet it seems like Cairo is still serving romance elsewhere; Mr Blue Eyes local cover band The Sinatras perform at Darb 1718, Amira El Beily recites some of her romantic poems on the stage at El Sawy Culturewheel, while Tamer Ashour, Amal Maher, and Magued El Mohandes sing some romantic tunes at The Marquee. Also, Richard Clayderman plays some classics on the piano on stage Al Manara International Convention Center.

Enough of it, already! Strawberry Swing are back on stage, but this time at Grand Nile Arts Centre, Wonder take to the stage for a round of tunes at Bedayat, while a gang of funny men entertain at ROOM Art Space for a stand-up comedy show called Anti-Valentine’s Day Comedy Night. Speaking of comedy, Cairo has a massive round of stage productions that will make you laugh away your singleness; Gareema Fel Maadi at Naguib El Rehani Theatre, El Zahr Lama Yela’ab at Heliopolis Library Theatre, and Aladdin at the Cairo Show Theatre.

The night is not over yet. Cairo Jazz Club’s night It’s Not Me, It’s You sees Taimour Omar, Ashmawy, and Sebzz taking to decks, while It’s Complicated night at The Tap East welcomes MaDJam to spin some tunes. Cairo Jazz Club 610 serves one throwback night called Mixtape of Luv, where you can groove to the sappiest love songs from the 90s, while a night called Valentine Shemalentine takes place at The Tap West; whatever that means, DJunkie is on the menu anyway.

When Saturday comes, Spade of Hearts play some jazz on the stage at The Tap West, Noha Fekry and her jazz quartet deliver the same genre, but at ROOM Art Space Garden City, Double Trouble rock the stage at The Tap East, while The Tap Maadi hosts another jam night. Sorour closes the weekend with a round of contemporary Arabic tunes on the stage at Cairo Jazz Club.

Check the whole lot at the Cairo 360 Events page for more things to do, and places to go!
