Hello Cairo!

It's the last weekend of what has been a busy month of Ramadan events, but in typical Cairo fashion, the city's venues are making it count.

Thursday sees one of the weekeend's biggest events kick-off in 6th of October City, with Mouled Galleria40 welcoming an epic musical line-up that will see Mahmoud El Leithy open the three day event.

Over at Darb 1718, meanwhile, Mawaweel comes to a triumphant close, with live entertainment at the 'alternative Ramadan experience', coming courtesy of Afro-fusion band, Hawidro, young musician, Osama El Hady, and the performers of El Mawlaweya, while at Cairo Opera House, the sensational voice that is Ali El Haggar performs a collection of his finest songs tonight at the Open-Air theatre.

Wrapping up their ‘Ramadan Fel Harra’ festivities this weekend is Eat and Barrel, with renowned Alexandrian rockers, Massar Egbari, set to start the weekend at the Nile-side Giza lounge.

There's more at Eat & Barrel on Friday, too, with the authentic Egyptian music of Hegazy Metkal and Hasballah. Meanwhile, Mouled Galleria40 continues into its second night with Saad El Soghayar, while El Sawy Culurewheel welcomes Egyptian singer, Fady Roshdy.

Elsewhere, Egyptian Arab Idol star, Mohamed Rashad, provides the entertainment at Four Seasons at the First Residence's Ramadan kheima, La Gourmandise, for a night of Egyptian oldies, while ROOM Art Space welcomes stand-up comic, Mohammed Salem, and smooth acoustic musician, Shady Ahmed.

Friday is also a big day for Fawazeer as they gear for another El Gom3a El Keebeera; the kheima, which is located at Le Meridien Cairo Airport, is set to welcome singer-songwriter, Abu, for a big night of music

On Saturday, Mouled Galleria40 closes the weekend with arguably its biggest night, as the legend that is Ahmed Adaweya headlines an evening of live music that will also include a performance from Abu, and there's plenty more to enjoy around the city. The likes of Wahawi, Ramadana and Lemonada have been turning heads in the kheima game this year and we've put the best Ramadan tents of 2015 all in one convenient place. But the fun isn't limited to tents and there are plenty of other top sohour spots across Egypt's capital.

Cairo's hotels have been going all out for the Holy Month and you can check out what the likes of Cairo Marriott, Fairmont Nile City, Conrad Cairo and others have waiting for you. Art lovers will also be pleased to know that several Cairo galleries have launched their summer exhibitions, including Zamalek Art Gallery and Ubuntu Art Gallery, while – in the spirit of Ramadan – there are calligraphy-based exhibitions at Picasso Gallery and Art Corner.
