Without much ado, here’s what awaits you – and where – in Cairo.

Thursday offers a plenty of jazzy tunes, with local band, Shady El Qasseer & Friends, taking to the stage of Zamalek’s 3elbt Alwan, The Gypsy Jazz Project taking to that of ROOM Art Space in Garden City, while Moroccan diva, Oum, along with local band, El Dor El Awal, are performing at Cairo Jazz Club.

On the other side of the musical spectrum, Shaabi DJ, Islam Chipsy, takes to the decks of Mohandiseen’s Underground in El Mahragan night, while both Taps kick-start the weekend with some heavy electronic beats, with Ouzo taking to the decks of Maadi’s and Mobbz taking that of New Cairo’s Tap in Pop Till You Drop. Giza’s Zigzag, meanwhile, begins the countdown to its September season opening with Minus T and Chiati.

More music to come on Friday; rising star, Fatma Adel, performs a number of Arabic folk songs at ROOM Art Space, Syrian singer, Faia Younan, takes to the stage at Nasr City’s Chinese Garden and Finoon Guitar & Oud Orchestra take to the satge of Al Rab3 for a night that sees various genres like oriental, classical and jazz, which are the same genres that Awtar Quartet will be playing, but at Heliopolis’ Bab 18.

Elsewhere, some of Cairo’s best rockers take to the stage of The Tap Maadi, in Electric Picnic, Mano and Ouzo take to the decks of Zigzag and DJ Sebzz takes that of Cairo Jazz club for a deep and tech house night, offering the same genre of Misty, who will be playing at The Tap East in Late Night House.

Saturday begins with fun and games at The Tap East, where eating competition, Do You Want to Wing? is taking place, but those who are not that competitive can simply enjoy the music there, while enjoying an all-you-can-eat burgers, sausages and local alcohol for 280LE in Let’s Get Stuff’d.

Later, rock band, Omar Ghali & Friends take to the stage of 3elbt Alwan, jazz master, Adam Miller, and his band, hit the stage of The Tap East in Jazz Jam, and last but not least, Hamed El Sayed takes to the stage of Maadi’s The Tap for an acoustic night.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg; the events page of Cairo 360 has a whole lot more of what to do and where to go, not just in Cairo, but in Sahel as well. Lovely weekend to y’all!
