We are but a weekend away from Ramadan; make sure you get the best out of what Cairo is offering in the next couple of days. Here’s a glimpse of what’s going on in the city.

Thursday begins withThe Bubble and The Gate; a couple of interactive theatrical performances at Townhouse Rawabet courtesy of Ahmed ShamelAzmi, and Shady Abdel Rahman respectively, a stand-up comedy show at 9 Adly Street, and another at 3elbt Alwan, where Al Hezb El Comedy are in charge.

As for music, local band Al-Safy plays a round of Arabic rock tunes on the stage at ROOM Art Space, Mounib take to the stage at El SawyCulturewheel to pay homage to the late Nubian artist Ahmed Mounib, while 5’ofol are on the menu at Darb 1718, which hosts the first edition of Darb Music Sessions.

Elsewhere, Sharmoofers, and DJ A.K take to decks at Cairo Jazz Club, while Cairo Jazz Club 610’s electronic night sees Hey DJ winners, HatemZahran, and Mohammed Fattah, spinning some numbers, as well as A-Squared and Ashmawy playing back-to-back. RamyDJunkie drops various R&B and hip-hop beats at The Tap West, Armen V, and Crash Boom Bang take to the stage at The Tap East, while The Tap Maadi hosts another edition of Cheeseballs.

When Friday comes, Ahmed Nabil sings a round of Oriental tunes on the stage at Gallery Haifa, Strawberry Swing cover classics by Coldplay at Cairo Opera House, NouranAbouTaleb and Samer George serve an Arabic jazz night at 3elbt Alwan, while harpist Yasmeen El Harby plays a variety of pieces at El SawyCulturewheel.

Delving deeper into the night, DJ AymanNageeb, and DJ FarahH are in charge of The Tap East’s house night, MESKA, and RamyDJunkie to take to the decks at Cairo Jazz Club 610, and DJ Gahalla serves some funky beats at The Tap Maadi. Elsewhere, DJ HanyHassan, and DJ Feedo spin some R&B and hip-hop at The Tap West.

As for Saturday, Nour Khan takes to the stage at ROOM Art Space to cover some Evanescence all-time favourites, Eftekasat sings a round of contemporary Arabic tunes at El SawyCulturewheel, while Yellow Umbrella’s brunch called A Little Bit of Everything sees Blue Melons taking to the stage. Cairo Opera House’s Main Hall hosts a night called Great Works for Choir and Orchestra, while AfriCairo hosts a stand-up comedy night called +18.

Sealing the weekend, as well as the whole season, Cairo Jazz Club Oriental music night sees Sukoon, and Egyptian Project taking to the stage, while Cairo Jazz Club 610 hosts a BBQ party that sees Glass Onioncovering classics by The Beatles, as well as DJ Mohasseb taking to the decks. Toasted Kings go acoustic at The Tap Maadi, DJ Teddy plays some pop hits at The Tap West, while Salalemtake to the stage at The Tap East for a round of contemporary Arabic tunes.
