Another weekend, another batch of events that cover all sorts of entertainment; check what Cairo has to offer in the next few days. Here’s the deal:

Thursday begins with numerous tribute nights; various artists take to the stage at El Sawy Culturewheel to pay homage to Nubian musician Ahmed Mounib, Strawberry Swing takes to 3elbt Alwan’s stage to cover a round of Coldplay classics, while MondeDalida cover a round of tunes by French songstress Dalida at Alrab3. Egyptian choreographer Walid Awni also pays tribute Lebanese architect Zaha Hadid, but with a modern dance performance entitled Hadid’s Tears, taking place on Main Hall’s stage at Cairo Opera House.

Elsewhere, DJ Lyon Avakian spins some pop hits at The Tap East, DJ A.K hits the decks for a hip-hop and R&B night at The Tap Maadi, while Disco Masr and DJ MK are on the menu at The Tap West. Cairo Jazz Club 610 serves an electronic night that sees DJs Rodriguez Jr., Doctor Dru, and Memo heading to the decks, while Cairo Jazz Club welcomes local band Raindogs to take to the stage for a round of covers by Tom Waits.

When Friday comes, Jordanian musician Aziz Maraka takes to the stage at New Cairo’s AUC Campus for a round of contemporary Arabic tunes, Sharmoofers celebrate the launch of their latest album, Enfesam, at Al Manara International Conferences Center, while Donia Anis takes to the stage at ROOM Art Space for an acoustic night.  This edition of Darb 1718’s MazzikaXElSat7 sees The Rolled-Up Sleeves covering Coldplay, Maroon 5, Michael Jackson, and more, while Do’souka takes to the stage at Maq’ad of Sultan Qaitbey-MASQ for a round of Arabic underground tunes.

When the night grows older, Gŭ Lounge hosts an Oriental night that sees a belly dancer performing to the beats of DJ Kajo, Opia Cairo hosts a tabla night that features DJ Fady at the decks, while DJs FarahH, and Kidmims; are on the menu on The Tap Maadi’s night, Retro Elektro. While it’s all about hip-hop and R&B at The Tap West, where Purplpitch, and Feedo take to the decks, and it’s a house night at Cairo Jazz Club, where Ayman Nageeb, Arrab, and Omar Sherif hit the decks. 

Saturday sees a Sufi night at Alrab3, courtesy of El Hadra, an Oriental fusion night at Darb 1718, where El Dor El Awal take to the stage, and another at ROOM Art Space, but with local band Sahab taking over.

More music to come with Asia Madani taking to the stage at Cairo Jazz Club for a round of Sudanese folk tunes; DJ Teddy spinning some pop tunes at The Tap West; DJ Kashouty serving the same genre but at The Tap East; DJ Tata taking over at The Tap Maadi for a funk and disco night.
