Egyptian Project to Hit Cairo Jazz Club With a Special Acoustic Performance
Cairo 360
No one supports, promotes, and sheds light on new talents like Cairo Jazz Club. It is no coincidence that the artists who began their journeys with performances at CJC, went on to accomplish great things; one such band is Egyptian Project. So, if you are on the lookout for something new, look no further than Egyptian Project’s live performance at CJC this Saturday, February 10th.
Still unsure?
Imagine the sagat joining forces with electric musical elements, or the dof playing in the background, as a Frenchmen takes over the vocals. Egyptian Project is a band that fuses Egyptian melodies and instruments, with European electronic beats. It takes a risk in creating something different and it thoroughly succeeds at it. Their music is both soulful and jazzy.
Although the band is half-Egyptian and half-French, their CJC performance will be more focused on showcasing the former half, given Jérôme Ettinger’s absence, and the presence of Sayed Emam’s soothing vocals; Ragab Sadek’s Dof; Anthony Bondu’s drums; and Salama Metwally’s rocking rababa.
P.S. The band has taken the liberty of organizing a special acoustic performance, showcasing their ability to make mesmerizing music.
