Mohamed Salah has been the talk of the town in Egypt for long, but this season, he’s blown everyone away with his performance in Liverpool, making him the talk of the town in England as well. 

However, not all people are alike, and hence, not all fans admire their favourite football players in the same way. A few days ago, Egypt faced Portugal in a friendly match that saw mega star Ronaldo turn the tables in just under five minutes.

Mo Salah scored the opener for Egypt, and one particular fan was excited about it. She’s an Egyptian living abroad, and during the game, she held up a poster in which she proposed to Salah. The Arabic sign reads: “Will you marry me, Salah? We’ll play football together.”

She was determined to get her message across, and headed for the man himself after the game, in an effort to ensure that he received news of her marriage proposal. Salah was kind enough to take a selfie with her, after jokingly stating that he’s “already married, and cannot marry another woman.” Mohamed Salah got married in 2013 to Maggi, with whom he had his daughter, Makka in 2014, hence his nickname, Abu Makka (Makka’s Father).

This is the second fan burst for an Egyptian player in the Premier League, after an English fan seemingly stalked Mohamed El-Neny, Arsenal’s midfielder. Her interest in our afro-haired midfielder drove him to block her on Twitter.
