After a massive opening last month, this year’s Cairo International Book Fair has seen great success, as always. As it was over the past couple of years, the fair has been set up in the Cairo International Exhibition Center, with a multitude of bookstores spread over the grounds’ four halls.

The Cairo International Book Fair was set up 52 years ago by the General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO) to promote reading, cultural education, and general knowledge amongst the masses of Egypt. Today, visiting the fair has become a tradition for many Egyptians. In its 52^nd session, the Cairo International Book Fair saw over 72,000 visitors on its first day, according to Egypt Independent.

This year, the fair is launching its first digital platform through which visitors can book their free tickets online. Each visitor is allowed to book four tickets in order to keep the number of visitors somewhat contained. Visitors can also find out more about the fair’s programmes, publishers, visiting authors, and locations of their favourite bookstore through the platforms.
