One of the biggest events this month in Cairo is without doubt Ice Age Live! A hit all across the world, the live show brings the characters of the popular animation series to life and kicked off an eight-day run on Wednesday at Cairo International Stadium, with over 100,000 expected to attend what is one of the most extravagant shows of its kind.

Born of the same minds that brought shows like Cirque Di Soleil and The Lion King to life, a grand production of this kind is a huge collaborative effort, with Huawei being one of the institutions involved. Standing as the Golden Sponsor of the production, the partnership marks the latest venture that Huawei has been involved with in Egypt as a firm supporter of innovative, youth-orientated activities and initiatives.

Spectacle aside, the show itself is a huge undertaking, with forty artists and performers set to take to the stage for a performance that combines ice-skating, aerial arts, puppetry and film; this is no mere stage spectacle, it’s an intricate and expansive piece of performance art – the kind that Huawei likes to get behind.

It’s an exciting move for the foreign bodies involved in bringing Ice Age Live!, too. “We are thrilled to be bringing this truly groundbreaking, live entertainment experience not just to Egypt but also for the first time in the Middle East,” said Michel Boersma, Director Global Touring of Stage Entertainment Touring Productions. “The majority of the cast has never been to Egypt but has heard a lot about the country's culture. We are promising an icy adventure like you’ve never seen before.”

One of the things that Huawei has been keen to highlight is that everyone involved has made a concerted effort to ensure that the show caters and is available to a wide range of families, with tickets prices beginning at 75LE.

The folks from Huawei had a little fun in the run-up to the show’s arrival,  inviting some of the most popular social media influencers in Egypt to the premiere as their guests, including Menna Allah, Owise Abu zeid, Nouran Khalifa, Alaa El Sheikh and Shereen Hamdy – but they certainly made them work for their tickets…

In addition, Huawei is giving away free VIP tickets for the show through their social media platforms – find out more on Facebook and Instagram.
