The daily lives of many people in the Middle East have been deeply affected by the unfortunate events in several areas, especially in Syria. While many have got used to it, some still can’t turn a blind eye, trying to help as much as they can. Egyptian footballer, Mohamed Salah, has advocated good causes throughout his career, and his latest deed has touched the hearts of many.

The Liverpool winger, 27, sent little eight-year-old Hamis Al Gacir a signed boot, but Al Gacir is no ordinary boy. He is a young champion who lost his leg to a bombing in Idlib, Syria, according to The Sun. Al Gacir had fled to Hatay in Turkey to escape the turmoil in his homeland.

The boot was attached to a frame with pictures of Salah that he will cherish during his courageous battle, and the generous gift will surely elevate his spirit, as it did to ours. Our prayers go out to him, along with everyone affected by the sad events, hoping to see similar actions like Salah’s, which, despite not turning the situation around, will put a smile on a face, to say the least.
