The smell of fresh popcorn, huge speakers, and a massive screen are all things we long for from time to time. It’s been a week since we checked out the new movies in cinemas, and we have a new batch filled with action, comedy, and drama. Here’s what to expect…

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

What is it about? The action movie stars Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, and Domhnall Gleeson, and it follows Rey’s (Ridley) journey through the last chapter of the Skywalker Saga, as the Resistance face the First Order one last time.

The good: The unanswered questions of its predecessor, The Last Jedi, will be finally put to rest.

The bad: One question remains; will this instalment live up to the glory of the previous episodes?

Bernie: The Dolphin 2

What is it about? This comedy follows Kevin (Logan Allen) and Holly (Lola Sultan), who attempt to rescue the dolphin, Bernie, from a secret plan that could destroy his home.

The good: Perfect movie for a family night out.

The bad: The plotline is somewhat similar to Free Willy, but instead of a whale, it’s a dolphin!

We Die Young

What is it about? The drama follows Lucas (Elijah Rodriguez), who is involved in Washington’s street gangs and wants his younger brother to have a better future. His dream can come true as Afghanistan war veteran, Danial (Jean-Claude Van Damme) moves into the neighbourhood.

The good: The plotline carries a moral story that a lot of young kids nowadays could benefit from.

The bad: Van Damme might be the only reason you will sit through the film.
