Goodwill, modesty and benevolence are three things that anchor the meaning behind Ramadan and many use the month for the chance to contribute to charitable causes. Perhaps finding the proper organization into which one could contribute time, effort or money is what’s challenging; on one hand, there are lots of initiatives out there, but ensuring that your good deeds go to those who really need it, is another issue all together.

Covering everything from medical institutions to initiatives that aim to combat issues such as poverty, unemployment and illiteracy, we’ve compiled ten charities that deserve your time and attention.
