Our lives have been turned upside down by the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Over the past few weeks, we’ve kept our ventures outside the house to a bare minimum, and when we do step outside, we protect ourselves with face masks, gloves, and hand sanitiser. While you were washing your hands for the fourth time yesterday, Vogue Arabia launched its own #StayHome campaign that encourages people across the world to abide by the health regulations necessary to stay protected.
Vogue Arabia went through the impressive archive of its magazine covers that feature celebrities from the Arab world and beyond like Nancy Ajram, Shereen Reda, Salma Abu Deif, and Winnie Harlow, and added masks to cover their faces in a bid to unite against the tragic Coronavirus.
“At Vogue Arabia, we want to instigate the message that we all should #StayHome and adopt the prescribed safety procedures so that we can all overcome this health crisis together, and more united than ever,” says Editor-in-Chief, Manuel Arnaut. “Since the cover of the magazine is a key statement, we hope all our followers join us in this campaign.”
Celebrities took to their Instagram pages and reposted those iconic covers featuring the newly-added face masks, along with heartfelt messages about the current global crisis.
We urge people to abide by the safety precautions and to stay safe at home for the time being.
