There’s nothing better than a day off to break a long, tedious week into two. Since we never miss a chance to rejoice at a national holiday, we’re sharing with you some of the happenings in Cairo for tonight and tomorrow.

Tonight, NugoumMasreya take to the stage at El SawyCulturewheel for a round of contemporary and classic tunes, while you can take to the stage yourself to flaunt your vocal talents at ROOM Art Space Garden City, where a karaoke night takes place.

Elsewhere, Wust El Balad head to the stage at Cairo Jazz 610 for a round of world music numbers, at Cairo Jazz Club DJ Mohasseb and Heavy Pins are set to serve various tunes that swing between deep house and Nu-Disco, while DJ Mou takes to decks at Stage One on a night called Live DJ Night.

You can also make a road trip to Alexandria, where the Roman Amphitheatre hosts Cairo Opera House’s summer music festival, which sees local band Ayamna El Helwa singing various all-time favourite jingles, soundtracks, and tunes.

As for Tuesday, El SawyCulturewheel hosts a night that sees FakhrLoqman taking to the stage to sing various Arabic tunes, ROOM Art Space Garden City brings another karaoke night, while Orien-Trioplay a round of classical folk tunes from the Orient on stage at Makan.

When the night grows older, Disco Masr celebrate the launch of their new album at Cairo Jazz 610, Telepoetic play various acoustic numbers on stage at Cairo Jazz Club, before Machine Eat Mantake over for a round of electronic tunes.

Cairo Opera House’s summer festival in Alexandria sees Medhat Saleh taking to the stage for a round of Arabic pop tunes.
