It’s not often that we get to shamefully boast about an Egyptian’s achievement, but today, we will with the man in question being The Nile Ritz-Carlton’s Catering Leader, Ahmed Haggag.

The twenty six year-old has fought off over 1000 other entrants from across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East and Africa, to be one of the select few winners of Marriott International’s prestigious ELITE Award.

An acronym standing for Excellence, Leadership, Inspiration, Teamwork, and Execution, the ELITE Awards celebrate teams and leaders from sales, revenue management, marketing and eCommerce, with the winners being judged on several criteria, including leadership skills, revenue results, customer service, and community involvement.

What makes Haggag’s achievement all the more impressive is the fact that the entries came from across all Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Starwood properties. Just to put that in perspective, the entries came from 30 different brands, including Bulgari, St. Regis, Renaissance Hotels, Le Meridien and more.  What’s even more impressive than that is that Haggag is said to have achieved 48% above his targets, single-handedly driving millions to The Nile Ritz-Carlton, all while upholding the highest of standards in his work – and he’s only twenty six years-old, don’t forget.

Congratulations to Ahmed and his team!
