As easy as it is to complain about the arrival of winter, there is also something a little bit special about this particular season. Maybe it’s the thought of spending chilly nights at home sipping on a hot drink, or maybe it’s simply the fact that anything is better than a hot day in one of the biggest, most bustling cities in the world.

Whatever the case, the folks at Gianaclis seem to be fond of the winter, too, and are celebrating Cairo’s usually brief foray with this crisp weather, with a very special event – the Winter WineLand Festival.

Taking place on Friday 8th of December at El Castillo Palace, the Winter WineLand Festival is shaping up to be the most spectacular of festive celebrations.

Kicking-off at 4PM, there’s plenty to get stuck into at the festival, including the thing we’re excited about most: wine tasting and food pairing, alongside Gianaclis’ master winemakers, who will be on hand to lend their own expertise to proceedings, while also answering any questions and queries.

In addition, there will be a special bar serving up wines, Sangrias and Gluvine (aka Hot Mulled Spiced Wine), alongside plenty of food, candy and other culinary surprises, alongside lots of Christmas decorations, while a packed entertainment schedule will provide an even bigger dose of the festive spirit. And just to add the cherry on top of this winter sundae, there will be a special tombola raffle giving attendees the chance to go home with some festive goodies.

This is all good and well, but how does one attend? By now, your social media feed will have been inundated with shots of glasses and bottles of Gianaclis. No, it’s not some guerilla campaign by Egypt’s premier wine brand, but a competition that has been set for the chance to win tickets to the festival. It’s all pretty easy, but to get those tickets, you’ll need to be at your most creative. All you need to do is take a pretty picture of a Gianaclis glass or bottle and post it using the #WinterWineLand to throw your hat in the ring.

That’s not the only chance you’ll get to win tickets though, because there’s another competition.  This time, you’re required to capture that oh-so satisfying uncorking of a wine bottle using that funny little medium called a Boomerang. Take it, post it, and use the #WinterWineLand.
