What’s Going on in Cairo This Weekend?

Now that Cairo is slowly getting back to its old self – with precautions, of course – we decided to gather a bundle of happenings that are set to take place at various venues across the city. Yes, it is such a delight to see Cairo lively again, yet we urge you to stick to the venues’ precautionary measures; it’s better to be safe than sorry, you know!
On Thursday, ROOM Art Space New Cairo hosts a karaoke night, while El Sawy Culturewheel breaks the ice with, not one, but two stand-up comedy shows courtesy of The Elite. Meanwhile, at Cairo Jazz Club, Shady Ahmed takes to the stage along with his acoustic guitar to play a variety of all-time favourite covers, as well as originals.
Friday sees violinist Amr Darweesh taking to the stage at ROOM Art Space New Cairo, playing a round of soothing tunes. Wael El Fashny sings a collection of Arabic Sufi numbers on stage at El Sawy Culturewheel, while Cairo Jazz Club 610 welcomes The One Four Five who will serve a blues night.
Closing the weekend, Sout Masr Orchestra plays a host of tunes on the stage at El Sawy Culture on Saturday.
