Wednesday is back again and along comes some of Hollywood’s latest productions. From Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer to Charlize Theron, this week’s batch is an all-blonde affair, with goofball comedy and comic-book inspired action on the menu.

Atomic Blonde

What’s it About? Based on Antony Johnston’s graphic novel, The Coldest City, this action thriller follows an undercover MI6 agent, who is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents.

Why it Might Be Good? Just reading the names listed on the bill can rocket anyone’s expectations; the acclaimed Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, who dazzled the audience with his brilliant performance in 2016’s thriller, Split and John Goodman, who has under his belt many classic performances, like Walter Sobchak in Joel and Ethan Coen’s The Big Lebowski.

Why it Might Be Bad? This is David Leitch’s second feature film as a director, after John Wick in 2014, so it’s hard to know what to expect. Let’s pray his expertise as a stunt coordinator in some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, like Jupiter Ascending and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, helps with this one.

Snatched

What’s it About? This action comedy tells of a woman, who, having been dumped by her boyfriend before their exotic vacation, persuades her ultra-cautious mother to travel with her to paradise, with unexpected results.

Why it Might Be Good? Snatched is directed by Jonathan Levine, who has written well known comedies like Warm Bodies, The Night Before and 50/50; if any of these names ring your bell, then this might be a good one for you.

Why it Might Be Bad? With a 35% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, a 3.6/10 on IMDB and a 45% rating on Metacritic, need we say more?
