This weekend, squash fans are in for a treat, because the city is set to host not only one, but two tournaments; the prestigious 2019-20 CIB PSA Women’s World Championship, as well as Men’s Egyptian Squash Open, which will both take place in Giza, boasting the breathtaking backdrop of the Great Pyramids.

Our Egyptian female squash stars Raneem El Welily, Nour El Sherbini, and Nouran Gohar, are competing among 64 players from all over the globe. The CIB PSA Women’s World Championship’s prize pool is 430,000$, exceeding, for the first time in history, that of the Men’s World Championship. The Championship commences on the 24th of October, lasting until the 1st of November.

Also taking place at the same venue is Men’s Egyptian Squash Open, gathering around 45 players from 19 countries. The competition sees many Egyptian champions playing, including Ali Farag, Karim Abdel Gawad, and Tarek Mo’men. The tournament begins on the 25th of October, and lasts until the 1st of November.

Tickets are available here, or you can watch the tournaments live on SquashTV. Check out more about the event here.
