Founded by Egyptian MMA athlete Sherif El Gamal, The Fight Zone is ideal for combat training. They offer classes for men, women, and kids as well. If your goal is to win tournaments, TFZ is your go-to as their head coach fought many times in Desert Forces (UFC equivalent in the Middle East). Earlier this year, Cicero Costha founded Atom Jiu Jitsu Gym in Cairo in an attempt to make the sport more popular in Egypt. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a combat style centred on ground fighting and neutralising opponents via submissions, which is perfect for kids as it doesn’t include a lot of violence like MMA or boxing. But make no mistake; BJJ is probably the best combat style for self-defence! In addition to BJJ, Atom Gym also offers yoga and boxing classes.
