Cairo Guide: Violin Lessons in the Capital

Cairo Guide: Violin Lessons in the Capital
written by
Cairo 360

After answering the call of aspiring musicians of Cairo with guides to drum and guitar lessons in the capital, the Cairo 360 team has been inundated with queries regarding violin lessons. This most elegant of instruments still only commands a somewhat niche appreciation in contemporary Egypt, so options are rather limited.

But despite that, there are several avenues one can take in mastering the violin. Firstly, it’s important that we dispel any lingering ideas that might condemn the instrument to the annals of classical music. With Oriental fusion being rather en vogue right now, more and more bands in Cairo are utilising the violin as a bridge between east and west.

Getting your hands on a violin can be a costly affair, however; prices can start as low as 200LE, but can go up all the way to 2000LE and higher. This is of course dependant on the type and quality of wood, where it was manufactured and so forth, but investing in quality will yield results – with a little help from these guys.
